Someone finally found a great use for okra - dried okra pods, at least! This is just one example of the whimsical creatures created by our resident gourd artist, Rosemarie Hunter.
Her "lizzies" are painted, decorated, and embellished with beads. Twisted paper legs and a wooden tongue are added, along with a raffia tie for hanging. Each one is unique and quite a conversation piece.
How big is an okra pod? Well - size may vary, but generally they measure 8 inches long and .75 inches wide. Include the legs and you can add about an inch to the width.
