This lovely art quilt is made with raw edge applique. Each part of the scene is layered together, starting with the sky, mountains, and foreground, and then quilted in place. Details such as the tree and leaves are added last and free motion stitched to the background. This 12.75 inch by 12.75 inch piece represents a field of spring flowers with blue-tinged mountains in the background.
A variety of fabrics were used in this quilt including 100% cotton and cotton/polyester blends. The batting is 100% polyester. A sleeve, wooden dowel, and ribbon are included for hanging. This lightweight quilt can be mounted in dry wall with a straight pin. Do not wash or place in direct sunlight, as fabrics could fade.
