Pyrography (“writing with fire”) is the free-handed art of decorating wood with burn marks resulting from the controlled application of a specialized heated tool. Color can be added after burning.
This piece features a white swan reflected in the water. It is burned on live-edge Basswood. Color was added after burning.
The size is 12 x 8 ½ inches and is approximately ½ inch thick. To care for this piece, keep it away from direct light and protect it from extremes of heat, moisture, and dryness. This can be hung on a wall or put on a table easel to display. A sawtooth hanger is attached onthe back for hanging.
