Give yourself or someone special something to crow about with this handsome lamp featuring a rooster, chicks, sunflowers, rock wall and tree. The rooster's name is Sriracha and he certainly knows how to strut his stuff. The figures are "hidden" when the lamp is off, but shine clearly when it is on. The 4 inch by 10 inch size makes it perfect for small shelves, tables or vanities. It works beautifully as a nightlight or accent lamp. I can make the lamp in almost any color. Please contact me through WomanCraft if you have a special request.

To make these lamps, I started with an original ink drawing of rooster with 3 chicks, sunflowers, a rock wall and a tree. I transformed the drawing into a vinyl cutout inspired by paper cuts and cameos. I then attach the cutout to a heat and flame resistant liner and cover it with fine Japanese mulberry paper. The mulberry paper partially hides the chipmunk, trunk and leaves when the lamp is off and adds a lovely glow to the cutout areas when the lamp is on. The paper is made from renewable bark that is harvested without harming the trees. This type of paper has been valued for centuries in Japan because of the way it diffuses light. The lamp bases are made from hand cast and painted plaster with a metal fitting to hold the socket. They have small glass feet that provide clearance for the cord.

The electrical components have a North American 2 prong polarized plug and a roll switch. They are UL listed and Canada certified for 120 volts and up to a 40 watt bulb. I recommend using LED candelabra (E12) base bulbs (not included).

To clean the lamp, simply dust the lamp with a soft, dry cloth. If needed, you can remove the light bulb and unclip the cord from the base in order to wipe out the inside of the lamp. Please do not use wet cleaners on the paper as they may damage it.
