Wood Powder Box - Forest Green
This decorative box is named for the use for which it was originally intended - to hold ladies' face or body powder. Soft flocking has been added to the interior of this box, making it a safe place to keep those delicate and special pieces.
The box lid is hand painted using individually applied strokes and dots, accented by faint accent lines and a wash of off-white. The side of the box is also decorated with a simple, stroke-work border. The interior is lined with flocking (masses of tiny fibers) that adhere to a thick, adhesive paint.
The lid is slightly domed and measures 5.25 inches in diameter. The inside diameter of the box is 4 inches, and the height (with lid) is approximately 1.25 inches.
