Hooty Owl Ornament
I like to look at a gourd and think about what it might be. For these egg gourds, sourced from the Carolinas, Hooty Owls came to mind. So there you have it! I've painted each one, added a branch for sitting on with a little moss for comfort and added a gold cord at the top for hanging. Hooty's tail is made from 150lb watercolor paper.
I use only gourds supplied by Mother Nature, so each one differs slightly in shape and size, and some may have an imperfection here or there. But generally speaking, each one is 5 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide. I left the seeds inside, so don't be surprised by the rattle!
